If you had no health coverage

Share:

If you didn’t have coverage during 2023, the fee no longer applies. This means you don’t need an exemption in order to avoid the penalty.

Some states charge a fee if you don't have health coverage

If you live in a state that requires you to have health coverage and you don’t have coverage (or an exemption), you’ll be charged a fee when you file your 2023 state taxes. Check with your state or tax preparer.

You will NOT get Form 1095-A unless you or someone in your household had Marketplace coverage for all or part of 2023.
