This Privacy Policy explains how Rebel Rates (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you use rebelrates.com, including our quote engines, agent directory, blog and giving programs.
Information you give us
- Quote details. To show prices, our quote engines ask for things like your ZIP code or state, birth date or age, gender, tobacco use and the coverage you want. You don't need to give contact details to see rates.
- “Learn More” requests. If you ask for help with a plan, we collect your name and the way you'd like to be contacted (phone and/or email), along with the plan you picked.
- Messages to agents and to us. When you contact an agent from our directory or send us a message, we collect what you enter in the form.
- Sharing with friends. If you use our “share with friends & family” box, we use your name and your friend's name and email address to send that one email. We do not add your friend to any mailing list.
- Agent accounts. Agents who list with us provide profile and business details. Payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
- Donations and wishes. If you donate or submit a wish, we collect the details in that form. Card payments are processed by Stripe.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we collect basic technical information such as your browser type, device, pages visited and approximate location based on IP address. We use cookies that the site needs to work (for example, to keep forms secure) and Google Analytics to understand how people use the site so we can improve it. You can block cookies in your browser settings or use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.

- To connect you with a licensed insurance professional, only when you ask us to.

- With the professional you choose. When you click “Learn More” or contact an agent, we share your request with that licensed professional so they can help you.
- With quote partners. Some quote tools are run by partners, such as Medicare Supplement rates and HealthSherpa for health plans. When you use them, the details you enter go to that partner, and their privacy policy applies on their site.
- With service providers who help us run the site, such as hosting, email delivery, payment processing (Stripe) and analytics (Google). They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
- When required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, our company or others.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale, where the new owner would be bound by this policy.
Phone calls, texts and emails
We will not contact you about insurance unless you ask us to. If you request help, the licensed professional may contact you using the method you gave about the plan you selected. You can tell them, or us, to stop at any time.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or other states with privacy laws), you may have additional rights. To make a request, contact us. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, to meet legal or accounting requirements, or to resolve disputes. Quote details you enter without asking for help are kept for a limited time and are not tied to your name.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), to protect your information. No website can guarantee perfect security, so please use care when sharing information online.
Children
Our site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Our site links to insurance companies, quote partners and other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.
